As well as individual employment remuneration and role dependant benefits, our companywide benefits include;

• Meal reimbursement if working on the weekend after working standard hours
• Paid birthday working day off and a gift
• At 5 years of continuous employment, an additional $2,300 is added to your base salary.
• At 10 years of continuous employment, additional 3-days annual leave and an additional sick leave entitlement.
• At 15 years continuous employment a $2,000 gross one-off bonus will be paid + a one-off annual leave grant of 10 working days

• Opportunities to attend supplier product training courses and other courses that can benefit upskilling upon agreement

Training & Development

We invest heavily in developing our people and the future of the trades, engineering, estimating and leadership.

• 38 people qualified since 2010 as HVAC&R Installers, Refrigeration Engineers, and Registered Electricians
• 30% remain at Fantail, with some progressing to senior management and shareholder roles
• Others have gone on to run their own businesses or work overseas
• 4 current apprentices, making up 12% of our workforce
• Ongoing development through recognised industry training programmes

Our 2026 Commitment

Fantail is committed to employing and training more apprentices across Wellington, Waikato, and the Bay of Plenty, supporting new talent in HVAC&R and electrical trades.

We also actively visit colleges and attend careers days to promote trade careers and highlight the essential role our industry plays in construction and building maintenance.
